General Intensive Outpatient Treatment

Sage's General Intensive Outpatient Treatment offer effective treatment options that utilise a holistic approach and Evidence-Based Treatments that consists of:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

  • Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET)

These are a few modalities that are utilised at Sage Centre to address mental health and behavioural issues that do not require detoxification or round-the-clock supervision.

At Sage Centre, our approach to mental health treatment is firmly rooted in evidence-based techniques that prioritise self-empowerment and skill-building. Rather than adhering solely to the traditional 12-step approach, we instead embrace more flexible alternatives such as SMART Recovery and Secular Organisations for Sobriety (S.O.S.), which enable us to personalise our treatment plans to cater to the distinct needs of each individual.

Our comprehensive approach to recovery includes a wide range of clinical services such as psychoeducation, group therapy, family therapy, and individual therapy sessions, all aimed at enhancing relapse prevention skills and knowledge. Our team of clinical psychologists conducts assessments and therapy sessions, while our dedicated Recovery Support Coaches provide ongoing coaching and 24-hour crisis management support.

What makes us different from Residential Treatment?

In contrast to residential treatment programs that mandate on-site residency, IOPs enable patients to maintain their normal daily routines while receiving treatment. Our aim is to equip them with the necessary coping mechanisms, mindset, and knowledge to seamlessly transition back into their families and communities with a healthier and more productive lifestyle.

Program Inclusion for General Intensive Outpatient Program:

The General Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to provide comprehensive care and support to individuals seeking treatment. The program structure ensures a holistic approach to recovery, incorporating a range of therapeutic modalities and support services. The program runs for a duration of four days a week, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, providing a structured and intensive treatment experience.

Key components of the program include:

1. Individual Psychotherapy: Participants will engage in individual therapy sessions three times a week. These one-on-one sessions offer personalized support and guidance, allowing individuals to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a safe and confidential environment.

2. Group Psychoeducation Classes: The program includes group psychoeducation classes held four days a week. These classes focus on educating participants about various mental health topics, teaching coping skills, and providing psychoeducation on relevant issues related to their conditions. Group discussions and interactive activities foster a sense of community and shared learning.

3. Group Activities: Participants will engage in group activities four days a week, promoting socialization, teamwork, and skill-building. These activities may include art therapy, mindfulness exercises, and other therapeutic interventions tailored to the needs and interests of the group.

4. Meals and Breaks: The program ensures that participants are provided with nutritious meals, including breakfast, lunch, and scheduled tea breaks. Adequate nutrition is essential for overall well-being and plays a crucial role in the recovery process.

5. 24/7 Support: Participants will have access to 24/7 support, ensuring continuous assistance during their treatment journey. Trained professionals will be available to provide guidance, address concerns, and offer support outside of program hours.

6. Relapse Prevention and Exit Planning: The program incorporates relapse prevention strategies to help participants develop effective coping mechanisms and minimize the risk of relapse. Exit planning is also an integral part of the program, ensuring individuals have a comprehensive aftercare plan in place as they transition to a lower level of care..

7. Aftercare: Following discharge from the intensive program, participants will receive six months of aftercare support. This includes regular check-ins, individual counseling sessions, and access to community resources to support their continued recovery.

At Sage Centre, we understand that true success lies in the continued progress of our clients long after their treatment with us has ended. That's why we offer comprehensive aftercare services designed to provide a multitude of benefits to individuals who have successfully completed their program.

Our aftercare program, led by our clinical psychologists, spans 6 months and offers clients the support and resources necessary for a sustained recovery journey beyond the initial treatment program. We prioritise the holistic well-being of our clients, equipping them with the necessary tools for a fulfilling and successful recovery.
